As science was evolving, it had to first pull away from its roots. And as all thing different, was similar in the same way. Some of the woodcuts depict demons other woodcuts, dramas and others of random objects related to the occult. Most woodcuts of these very early times show very obviously, depictions of mental and physical formalities.
